Concrete Floor Crack Repair and Stabilization

Permanent Concrete Floor Crack Repair in Clarksville, TN Using Crack Stitch® and Polyurethane Foam Lifting

The Challenge

A two-story apartment building in Clarksville, Tennessee experienced over 1.5 inches of vertical settlement in its floating concrete slab floor. The movement caused a noticeable crack across the floor and visible gaps under exterior walls and baseboards, raising concerns about structural integrity and tenant safety.

The Solution

United Structural Systems began the repair by injecting expanding polyurethane foam through the concrete slab to fill the underlying voids and raise the floor back to its original elevation. This process stabilized the entire slab and closed the gaps that had formed due to settlement.

Once the slab was level and secure, Crack Stitch® was installed every 12 inches on center across the floor crack. The high-strength carbon fiber reinforcement reestablished the floor’s load-bearing capability and restored the structural performance of the slab.

The Result

The combination of polyurethane foam injection and Crack Stitch® reinforcement resulted in a permanent repair that restored both the elevation and integrity of the concrete floor. The property owner regained peace of mind, and the apartment building was returned to safe, functional condition without the need for demolition or replacement.
