Pool Deck Stabilized with Crack Stitch in Southern California

Crack Stitch™ Installed to Minimize Future Movement Before Overlay Application

The Challenge

In Southern California, a property manager contacted Millennium Construction to replace a damaged pool deck. During the first visit, the contractor noticed several visible cracks across the surface.

If not addressed, these cracks would likely continue to spread, even after applying a new overlay. Simply covering them would not solve the problem long-term. To protect the investment, a better solution was needed.

The Solution

First, Millennium Construction recommended installing Crack Stitch™ to reinforce the concrete before resurfacing. The property manager agreed to the plan.

Next, the crew installed about 200 Crack Stitch™ carbon fiber stitches across the cracks. These stitches were placed into small cuts made across each crack and bonded in place with epoxy. This process holds the concrete together and helps prevent further movement.

After the reinforcement was finished, the team applied a textured pool deck overlay. This gave the area a fresh, clean look—while also helping to protect it from future cracking.

The Result

By proactively reinforcing the cracks before resurfacing, Millennium Construction gave this pool deck a stronger foundation for long-term performance. The Crack Stitch system will help minimize further cracking and slab movement, preserving both the appearance and durability of the new overlay.

Why Crack Stitch:

Concrete overlays won’t stop cracks on their own. Reinforcing the surface with Crack Stitch™ before resurfacing makes a big difference in how long the repair lasts—especially around pools, where moisture and movement are common.
